Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss a news article regarding a study on body fat and BMIs (body mass index). Researchers at the University of Manitoba in Canada found that women who are underweight with a BMI lower than 22.5 had a 44% higher risk of dying during the study period. While women who had more than 38.7% total body fat had 19% higher death rates. Men with a BMI 23.8 or lower had 45% higher death rates during a follow-up period. Men with 36% or more total body fat were at 59% higher risk of dying during the study period.
